Man killed, 2 injured in Orange County neighborhood shoot out

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two people were shot during a fight in an Orange County neighborhood at about midnight Monday.

Authorities said a group of men and women arrived in a car at a home on Falling Water Drive.

A woman in the car was going to the home to get her belongings when an argument ensued between the woman and a group of people in the home, said officials.

Authorities said shortly after the argument, a man who was with the woman in the car and a man who was inside the home pulled out a gun and exchanged gunfire.

Officials said the man inside the home was shot and injured, and the man who was in the car, Jimmy Jackson, 29, was shot and killed on the street.

The woman was also shot and injured. She has non-life-threatening injuries, said officials.

The group who were in the car tried to drive off, but only drove about 100 yards down road when deputies said they arrived and stopped the car.

Deputies said they discovered the woman who had been shot and called an ambulance.

Deputies said everyone involved in the incident was questioned, and no one was being sought.

At this point, deputies said they are calling the shooting a justifiable homicide and are currently filing the case with the State Attorney’s Office for their review.
