Man snatches gold necklace off woman's neck in Ocoee Publix

OCOEE, Fla. — Police are searching for a man who they said snatched a woman's gold necklace off of her neck inside an Ocoee Publix on Friday.

Police said the incident happened at the Publix on Silver Star Road around 5:30 p.m.

According to officials, the suspect went up to the victim, who was a customer, and snatched a gold chain necklace off of her neck. There was a brief struggle between the suspect and the victim, but police said the man was able to get away and fled in a car waiting nearby.

The suspect is described as a young black male. Police released several surveillance photos that show the suspect.
