Person of interest sought in Orlando shopping plaza stabbing death

ORLANDO, Fla. — A man stabbed and killed another man outside an Orlando shopping plaza, investigators said Monday.

Police said LaQuincy Johnson, 32, was stabbed to death.

Neighbors told WFTV that the trouble started with a fight over a debt.

"We think we have a pretty good idea who we're looking for, but like I said, it's still a very active investigation," said Lt. Jose Velez of Orlando Police Department.

Investigators said the killing happened Sunday night at the Washington Shores shopping plaza, just west of South John Young Parkway.

WFTV spoke with one of Johnson's best friends, who said that he was a good person and he doesn't know who would target him.

"It's hard to believe this here, man, I grew up with this man," said Johnson's friend. "I don't know nothing. I just got a phone call saying he was stabbed, and the next phone call 10 minutes later is that his mom was at the hospital and that he was dead."

Orlando police said they are looking for LeCarlos Williams, 32, as a person of interest in the case.

"We have a pretty good idea who we're looking for, but like I said it's still a very active investigation," said Velez.
