Man hit, killed by train in Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A man was hit and killed by a southbound Florida East Coast Railway cargo train, Daytona Beach police said.
 
The man was hit about 8:30 p.m. Monday near West International Speedway Boulevard and Magnolia Avenue.

Officials said the train was traveling about 35 miles per hour when it hit the man.

The man's body was found near the intersection after the train dispatcher called to report the incident.

Investigators have not released the victim's name.
