Man surrenders to Orange County deputies after domestic disturbance, officials say

ORLANDO, Fla. — A tense stand-off ended peacefully Sunday night after several hours, Orange County deputies said.

Authorities arrived at the scene at around 5:20 p.m. on Teresa Road for a domestic call.

Deputies first made contact with the woman inside the home.

She said her partner had barricaded himself in the house with two children and refused to come out.

After a couple of hours on the scene, deputies were able to take the man into custody.

Residents said they heard one gunshot, and then deputies and first responders began swarming outside the home.

One neighbor said she was relieved the situation was resolved without anyone getting injured.

It’s a quiet neighborhood and concerning for everybody,” said Ms. Mary, who lives nearby. “I’m thankful the situation ended peacefully.”

As of Sunday night, no charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
