Suspects accused of damaging cars with BB guns arrested

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Four people are now in the Marion County jail, accused of going on a destructive shooting spree with BB guns in Lake and Marion counties.

Investigators said they admitted to shooting out windows to hundreds of cars because they were bored.

A deputy’s cruiser and a mail truck were damaged from the shootings.

"They were bored," said Judge Cochran of the Marion County Sheriff's Office. " They told our detectives they were bored."

Marion County deputies arrested 20-year-old Austin Fagan, 18-year-old Shane Partain, 22-year-old Kameron Cole and 18-year-old and Kaitlin Prusanski, after they received a tip from a caller who saw the story on Eyewitness News and called CrimeStoppers.

In Marion County early estimates of damage put the cost at more than $22,000.

Victims told WFTV all four suspects should be responsible for the damage.

“Maybe some of us will get our money back for what we put out and they get their punishment.  They deserve to be punished for what they've done,” said Orlando Rodriguez, whose car was damaged from the vandalism.

All four suspects were charged with criminal mischief and could soon face more than 100 criminal charges.
