Masked men taped victim's hands, feet during Cocoa robbery

COCOA, Fla. — Cocoa police are looking for a pair of masked men who invaded a home at the Longwood Apartments off Clear Lake Road Wednesday afternoon.

The victim told police he was caught completely off guard by two armed men who bound his hands and feet with tape while the robbers helped themselves to small electronics. He said they left quickly.

Once the men were gone, he said was able to break free and call police.

The scene is too familiar to neighbors like Bill Ragland. Three months ago, police were called to the same complex for a shooting that left one woman dead.

"There's obviously not enough deterrent for them to do what they're doing," Ragland said.

There have been no arrests in that case.

The recent incidents had one woman so shaken she didn't want to show her face.

When Channel 9 asked police if they consider Longwood Apartments a high crime area, they said the only major event in recent memory was the January homicide.
