Memorial honoring Lt. Debra Clayton moved inside police headquarters

ORLANDO, Fla. — A memorial honoring a fallen Orlando police lieutenant has been moved inside the lobby of Orlando Police Department Headquarters.

Lt. Debra Clayton picture was surrounded by flowers and mementos outside the headquarters.

On Jan. 9, the 17-year veteran of the force was gunned down by murder suspect Markeith Loyd, police said.

Last week, Clayton's patrol vehicle, which was part of the memorial, was vandalized.

Police said the vandalism case remains open, and no arrests have been made.

It’s not clear why the rest of the memorial was moved inside.
