World Kindness Day: Mister Rogers concert series returns this weekend to Rollins College

ORLANDO, Fla. — Rollins College Department of Music will again host Mister Rogers: The Musician concert series this weekend to celebrate World Kindness Day on Saturday.

Rogers graduated from Rollins College in 1951 with a degree in music composition and wrote several songs while at Rollins including an opera titled “Josephine the Long-Necked Giraffe,” which he wrote in French, according to Rollins College.

Musical selections will be performed by faculty and students during two special performances at the College’s Tiedtke Concert Hall at 1 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

The concert is free and tickets are not required. However, due to COVID-19 protocols, seating is limited to 200 people and visitors will be asked to self-screen for symptoms prior to entry, Rollins said.
