Mobile mammogram unit back on the move in Central Florida after services stalled due to pandemic

ORLANDO, Fla. — A mobile mammogram unit is back on the move after the pandemic sidelined the service for months.

The bus, which is run by Orlando’s Women’s Center For Radiology, is back at it, delivering lifesaving screenings for women across Central Florida.

“We’re excited to be back and seeing patients. It’s wonderful to be able to make sure our patients get their mammograms annually, it’s such an important thing,” said Megan Foppiani with Women’s Center for Radiology.

It’s believed to be one of, if not the only, rolling resource in the Southeast with state-of-the-art 3D mammograms and ultrasound, just as you’d find inside an office.

Women can board the bus and get their screening mammograms done for the year. It only takes 20 minutes.

Yearly mammograms are recommended for all women age 40 and above. No symptoms or prescriptions are needed.
