More street lights may be added to road where 8-year-old was hit

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — The family of the 8-year-old girl who was hit by a car on State Road 436 said her brain activity is improving.

Angel Lo and her uncle were crossing Semoran and Century 21 boulevards, an area known for pedestrian accidents, when she was hit.

As a result, the state said it is working with OUC on a project to add more street lights along the three-and-a-half mile stretch of State Road 436 into Seminole County.

About two months, there was another accident on Semoran Boulevard where a teenager was struck and killed after a driver ran a red light near Old Cheney Highway.

From 2010-2012, there were 70 crashes on the roadway from Old Cheney Highway to Century 21 Boulevard.
