Neighbors help police catch driver who allegedly tried to run from crash

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police said residents helped them catch a driver who tried to flee the scene after a crash.

Police said just after 9 p.m. Thursday, the suspect was speeding down Burton Boulevard in Orlando when he lost control of his car, crashed through someone’s front yard fence and hit two cars in a driveway.

They said the driver ran from the vehicle, but was caught by neighbors who were in the area and witnessed the crash.

The driver was treated at Orlando Regional Medical Center for minor injuries and will later be booked into the Orange County Jail.

Police said it’s still not clear if the driver was drunk when he crashed
