No injuries in Polk Co. plane crash

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Polk County deputies are investigating a small plane crash in Mulberry.

Investigators said one of the plane’s wings got tangled up with the strings of a parachute.

Investigators said the 87-year-old pilot was doing touch and go landings in his private Cessna when it cut the parachute's strings about 75 feet off the ground.

The pilot and the 49-year-old parachutist were taken to the hospital, but neither was seriously injured
