OCSO: Man in hospital after being shot in Pine Hills

PINE HILLS, Fla. — A 27-year-old man is in the hospital after being shot early Saturday in Pine Hills, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

The man was shot near the intersection of Orwood Drive and Magnolia Homes Road around 5:15 a.m., deputies said.

A neighbor heard the gunfire, stepped outside and heard the man asking for help, deputies said.

The neighbor put the victim in his car, called 911 and started driving toward the hospital, deputies said.

The neighbor stopped at the Wawa at the corner of Edgewater Drive and John Young Parkway where the fire department met the victim, deputies said.

Paramedics applied first aid before transporting the man to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
