Motorcyclist killed on SR-408 on-ramp ID'd

ORLANDO, Fla. — Authorities released the identity of a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash along the 408 Expressway on-ramp to Interstate 4 Tuesday morning.

Authorities said Azoth Brandao Bertarello, 24, was heading westbound on I-4 and drove off the roadway at the 408 Expressway entrance ramp before striking a concrete pole.

Officials said they believe the crash happened in the early morning hours and was not discovered until about 7:30 a.m., because the driver and motorcycle were off the roadway and were not very visible in the darkness.

WFTV found out that a witness called police when they spotted Bertarello's body on the side of the road.

Officers said it appeared he left the road on his own and was not forced off, but the investigation continues.

Investigators said Bertarello's family members in Brazil were notified.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash occur is asked to please contact the Orlando Police Department at 321-235-5300.
