Orange City and Deltona to consider face mask ordinances

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Amid the coronavirus pandemic, officials in two more Central Florida cities could soon require residents and visitors to wear face coverings in public.

Orange City council members planned to meet Monday evening to discuss an emergency ordinance to mandate face masks.

The meeting has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the city’s council chambers, located at 201 N. Holly Avenue in Orange City.

In Deltona, city commissioners have called a special meeting for Tuesday evening.

They plan to discuss a pending resolution concerning facial coverings in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The city said members of the public are welcome, but notes that space will be limited due to social distancing guidelines.

Attendees are encouraged to wear face coverings.

No vote is expected at Tuesday’s meeting, which will be held at Deltona City Council Chambers, 2345 Providence Blvd, Deltona.
