Family member finds man's body inside Orange County home

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was found dead inside an East Orange County home Monday night, investigators said.

Officers said the 32-year-old man's body was found by a family member inside the home on Lake Sharp Drive near Aloma Avenue in the Watermill Lakes subdivision.

Orange county homicide detectives said the man's death is suspicious, and spent the night gathering evidence.

"Finding them dead inside of a residence with no witnesses," said Lt. Paul Hopkins of the Orange County Sheriff's Office. "Right now, we don't know what led up to this death. We're investigating best we can with CSI and homicide detectives, canvassing the neighborhood and speaking to relatives in the area.

The family member called 911 at about 8 p.m. Monday.

"Right now, we're treating it as a suspicious death until we're able to get evidence out of there and examine the body and see how this person died. We're going to treat it as a suspicious death and conduct the investigation in case it did lead to a homicide," said Hopkins.

The name of the victim was not released.
