2 Orlando men arrested in connection to statewide crime spree targeting gun stores, marijuana dispensaries

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two men believed to be responsible for a statewide crime spree targeting gun stores and marijuana dispensaries were arrested, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Jerry Mitchell and Ladarius Jones, both from Orlando, are being held in Orange County Jail. They are facing charges related to racketeering, burglary, grand theft and property damage.

Investigators said the suspects stole more than $250,000 worth of guns, car parts, and cash at car businesses and electronic stores. They are also suspected of robbing Trulieve dispensaries in Orange, Sumter, Polk, Indian River and Pinellas counties.

Investigators said they believe the men also targeted gun stores in Central Florida and across the state.

Because there are so many incidents in several different counties, the office of statewide prosecution will handle the case.
