2 supervisors included in sexual harassment allegations at Orange County Fire Rescue

Two supervisors are being disciplined for not immediately reporting allegations on inappropriate touching, texting and more, according to a complaint report.

Assistant chief James Bates was suspended for 80 hours after not reporting issues of sexual harassment relayed to him at the beginning of October by now-fired battalion chief David Hollenbach.

Hollenbach was fired for not being truthful with the county about a sexual relationship with a rookie firefighter, and not reporting the allegations of potential sexual harassment under his command.

Bates is not allowed to work any field shift assignments for a year, according to the report.
