Downtown Orlando prepares for Cinco de Mayo crowds amid pandemic

ORLANDO, Fla. — Last year, the pandemic brought many bars and restaurants to a halt.

But as more people are getting vaccinated and more restrictions are being lifted, things are slowly getting back to business as usual.

And with Wednesday being Cinco de Mayo, celebrations are set to take place on Wall Street downtown.

Even with Gov. Ron DeSantis’ latest executive order abolishing cities and counties from enforcing COVID-19 restrictions, many businesses are still requiring masks to enter.

Orange County officials said they’re figuring out how to further direct businesses, and there will be more security out as well.
