ORLANDO, Fla. — There’s a new program to help Florida men become better fathers.
State Sen. Randolph Bracy of Ocoee spoke about the fatherhood initiative.
It includes more than $64 million to mentor fathers as well as children who are at risk.
Bracy pushed to expand the local program to the entire state.
Lawmakers signed off on the idea during the most recent legislative session.
“As a father myself of two young girls, I realized these kinds of programs are important and sometimes we need help to mentor fathers,” Bracy said.
The Department of Children and Families is preparing to roll out the program soon.
