Happening this month: Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival begins

WINTER PARK, Fla. — The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival will be held in May this year.

The festival is in its 62nd year and it’s one of the nation’s oldest, largest and most prestigious outdoor art festivals.

The festival features a variety of fine arts and crafts including clay, digital art, graphics and printmaking, jewelry, photography and more.

Organizers said the festival started in March 1960 as a community project to bring local artists and art lovers together.

Officials said the festival is produced by an all-volunteer board and draws more than 350,000 visitors each year.

The festival will run from May 14 to May 16 in Central Park and along Park Avenue in Winter Park.

It will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
