Man wanted in shooting that killed woman, injured toddler shoots self inside Orlando Big Lots, deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A woman died and a 3-year-old girl was critically injured in a shooting at an Orange County apartment complex, deputies said.

Just before midnight, deputies said they responded to the Wellesley apartment complex near State Road 408 and Good Homes Road in Orlando.

Deputies said 37-year-old Capucine Carson died at the scene. The child was rushed to a local hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

Deputies said the suspect, a 37-year-old-man, ran into the Big Lots on Good Homes Road just before 8 p.m. when deputies attempted to make contact with him.

The suspect, identified as Toffara Snow, shot himself inside the store, deputies said. Orange County Fire Rescue responded and transported him to a local hospital in critical condition.

There are no outstanding suspects in the case.

Snow remains in the hospital under the supervision of Orange County Corrections. He is in custody on charges of first degree murder with a firearm and attempted first degree murder with a firearm.

Snow and Carson were husband and wife, but is not the father of the 3-year-old, deputies said. The child is still hospitalized.
