Man found in Orange County roadway dies of gunshot wounds, FHP says

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man that was initially believed to be the victim of a car crash in Orange County died of gunshot wounds early Tuesday morning, according to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP officials said the man was found in the middle of the road on Merriewood Drive and Powers Drive around 4:00 a.m.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where it was determined that he died of gunshot wounds and not a car crash.

Suspect information has not yet been released.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the incident.
