Man hit and killed while crossing University Boulevard in Orange County, troopers say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol troopers in Orange County are investigating a deadly crash after a driver hit and killed a pedestrian on Saturday.

The crash occurred at around 11:50 a.m. near the intersection of University Boulevard and Lake Lynda Drive.

Troopers said a 19-year-old Orlando man was driving an SUV westbound on University Boulevard when he struck a 19-year-old Titusville man who was crossing the roadway.

Investigators said the victim was not on a crosswalk or at the intersection when he was hit by the driver.

Troopers said the driver was struck head-on and was taken to Oviedo Medical Center, where he died.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
