More than double the number of people traveled through OIA in February than January

ORLANDO, Fla. — The number of passengers passing through Orlando International Airport more than doubled from January to February, airport officials said Tuesday.

Data shows the airport saw a total of 3.4 million passengers in January and 7.1 million in February.

Officials said they’re crediting the increase to speed week competitions in Central Florida as well as the unofficial start to the spring break travel season.

The airport said Air Transat resuming service to Canada and Frontier adding service to Ft. Lauderdale also helped boost numbers.
