Motorcyclist dies after driver makes illegal turn in Orange County, troopers say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A deadly crash Sunday shut down a busy roadway in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said they were called to a crash around 12:30 p.m. involving a motorcycle and car in the area of Goldenrod Road and Timber River Circle.

According to a report, a 51-year-old Orlando woman was driving west on Timber River Circle and made a left turn from a right-turn-only lane onto Goldenrod.

The motorcyclist was going north on Goldenrod in the outside lane when the driver turned into their path, officials said.

Troopers said the Orlando woman hit the rider and their were ejected from the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital but did not survive.

The identity of the motorcycle rider has not been released.

Troopers said the driver who hit the motorcyclist stayed at the scene and the crash remains under investigation.
