One person killed, 2 others in serious condition following deadly Orange County crash, troopers say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened early Saturday morning in Orange County.

The crash happened on South Goldenrod Road near the intersection of Fort Jefferson Road at around 12:45 a.m.

Troopers said a Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on South Goldenrod Road and a BMW 330i was traveling northbound on South Goldenrod Road.

According to a news release, the driver of the Nissan attempted to make a left turn onto Fort Jefferson Boulevard and cross into the direct path of the BMW.

The front of the BMW hit the right side of the Nissan causing the Nissan spin and smash into the curb.

The driver of the Nissan was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The passenger of the Nissan was transported to hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

According to a report from FHP, neither the driver nor passenger of the Nissan was wearing their seatbelt.

One of the passengers in the BMW, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver and other passenger in the BMW suffered minor injuries.

This crash remains under investigation.
