Only half of Orange County deputies have gotten COVID-19 vaccine so far

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — COVID-19 has taken a huge toll on Central Florida law enforcement agencies, in more ways than one.

Many officers and deputies were infected in the line of duty, but so far only half of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office have been vaccinated so far.

Sheriff John Mina said he’s doing everything he can to get more deputies on board, including recently hosting a vaccine clinic at the sheriff’s office.

They’re also bringing a doctor in to speak with anyone who has concerns about getting the shot.

The sheriff’s office does not plan to require the COVID-19 vaccine at this point, however it does require hepatitis A and B shots, as well as a tetanus shot.
