Orlando International Airport sees big crowds during Easter holiday weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando International Airport is seeing big crowds as people travel to their holiday weekend destinations.

If you’re flying out Saturday, be prepared to see long lines and packed flights.

Channel 9 reporter Phylicia Ashley was out at Orlando International Airport on Saturday morning, including for some of the peak travel times.

Due to the crowds, the best time to make it from check-in to your gate is three hours.

That is also what airports are recommending because this is one of the busiest travel times of the year.

Data shows 25% of Americans will travel this weekend with the addition of spring breakers and Easter travelers.

OIA did not see any major burst of delays or cancellations Saturday morning.

Peak travel runs through Tuesday, and Monday is the next high point for traveling.
