ORLANDO, Fla. — Another 250 people are now better protected against COVID-19 thanks to an operation at The Salvation Army’s Orlando headquarters.
Organizers said vaccination events will continue as long as the supply keeps coming.

Depending on vaccine availability, the partnership with FEMA and the state vaccination bus will run Tuesdays and some Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., or until supplies last, which on Tuesday was about 2 p.m.
“We’ve done this several times now, and they come with 250 vaccinations and every day they’ve used them all,” said Captain Ken Chapman with the Salvation Army.

Chapman said these weekly vaccine events are part of The Salvation Army’s ever-growing role in the COVID-19 crisis.
On Tuesday, their mission continued with a drive-thru food distribution, providing 1,300 families in need with fresh food boxes.

Since March, The Salvation Army has provided nearly 1.5 million meals as an expanding pandemic affected demographic seeks help.
