Students awarded scholarship checks during annual Puerto Rican Parade Gala

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Puerto Rican Parade Gala was held Thursday night.

Channel 9 anchor Kirstin Delgado emceed the event which was held at the Hilton at SeaWorld Orlando.

Every year the gala features entertainment from Puerto Rico, a dinner and scholarship presentation.

Channel 9 presented scholarship checks to five students.

The theme for this year’s parade is “education, pathway to the future.”

The annual Florida Puerto Rican Parade & Festival will kick off Saturday morning in downtown Orlando.

The parade will begin on Robinson Street at Rosalind Avenue, go past Lake Eola Park, cross Central Boulevard, go up Orange Avenue and end at Livingston Street.
