WATCH: Orlando police apologize after detaining wrong men in viral TikTok video

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando Police are responding to an incident involving an officer’s mix-up that has gone viral on TikTok.

Two men, ages 21 and 33, were arrested after officers were working on an armed robbery that happened on April 19 on International Drive, according to police.

The victim around 11:40 p.m. called the police to report two individuals who had attacked him and took his wallet, digital camera and Apple Watch, and that the suspects claimed to have a gun.

A victim and a witness told police that the suspects appeared to be Black or darker complexioned men with bicycles.

About 10 minutes later, responding officers located and detained two individuals on bicycles who matched the descriptions. They were detained to determine if they were the suspects responsible for the crime.

The witness was brought to where the two individuals were detained a short while later. The officers confirmed the two men were not responsible for the armed robbery and released them.

The robbery is still under investigation.

One of the men arrested captured the incident on camera and posted it on TikTok, where it has gone viral.

The video shows a police officer pulling his car up next to him and telling the two men to get on the ground.
