Woman accused of pushing baby in stroller into oncoming traffic on busy Orange County road

A woman was arrested on Wednesday after she allegedly pushed her baby in a stroller into oncoming traffic, Winter Garden police said.

On June 17, police said they were called to the intersection of West Colonial Drive and Avalon Road after a woman was reportedly seen pushing a stroller into traffic.

Witnesses told police they saw Laronda Pressley laughing as she pushed the stroller into oncoming traffic.

Several witnesses said they had to swerve or hit the brakes to avoid hitting the stroller.

Officers said the baby was not injured.

A witness also told police that the woman later pushed the stroller into a bush, and then walked toward a nearby post office.

Pressley is being charged with aggravated child abuse and attempted homicide, police said.

She was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation.
