Orlando Health, UCF help children with special mobility needs

ORLANDO, Fla. — Children with special mobility needs have a new way of getting around.

Orlando Health and the University of Central Florida have teamed up to turn motorized toy cars into rides for children with special mobility needs.

The toy cars are retrofitted based on the child’s needs.

Children and their parents got a look Friday at the toys cars and were able to test them at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

The modified cars can be used at home, in the community, during therapy or at the hospital. Arnold Palmer will also have a car at its hospital.
