Orlando man dies in early-morning crash

ORLANDO, Fla. — A 75-year-old Orlando man is dead after his car drifted into oncoming traffic, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The man, who has not been identified, was driving a 2004 Honda Civic south on Boggy Creek Road north of Beth Road around 4:09 a.m. when he drifted into the northbound lane, troopers said.

He drifted into the path of Ximena Ortega, crashing into the front of her 2004 Chevy pickup, troopers said.

When the man collided with Ortega, his car rolled backward into a utility pole, which crashed on top of his car, troopers said.

Ortega was taken to Osceola Regional with minor injuries, troopers said.

The man was also taken to Osceola Regional, where he died, according to the crash report.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
