Orlando police seeking suspect in shooting, attempted carjacking

ORLANDO, Fla. — A man was shot in Orlando Friday evening.

Police responded tot he 2100 block of Mount Vernon Street just before 7 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

Officers arrived to find one person with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

According to police, as the shooting suspect was trying to flee the area, he attempted to carjack another vehicle on nearby Stanley Street.

A witness told Channel 9 it was actually the shooting victim who rammed his truck into the suspect’s vehicle, forcing him to get out and run.

Police say the victim was taken to the hospital to be treated. They have not said whether the suspect has been taken into custody.
