• Orlando soldier receives Purple Heart

    Fort Bliss, Texas - A U.S. Army Reserve soldier from Orlando received a Purple Heart for injuries he received while serving in Afghanistan last year.

    Staff Sgt. Nathan Robbins was awarded the medal in a ceremony last week at the Warrior Transition Unit at Fort Bliss, Texas.

    The medal was presented by Brig. Gen. Douglas R. Satterfield.

    Robbins serves with the 689th Engineer Company, 841st Battalion, 926th Engineer Brigade.

    Robbins is a native of San Francisco, but moved to Orlando to join the 689th in 2007.
