Osceola County DOH celebrates National Minority Health Month with a free community event

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — April is National Minority Health Month.

To celebrate, the Florida Department of Health in Osceola County is partnering with the Osceola County Branch of the NAACP to host a Health Extravaganza on April 1.

The free community event will offer adult health screenings, food demonstrations, entertainment, children’s activities and much more.

“In collaboration with our partners, the health department strives to address the need of the entire community, including minority vulnerable populations. The goal is to address the unique needs and challenges within our community to ensure positive health outcomes for all,” officials said in a news release.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chambers Park Community Center, located at 2380 North Smith Street in Kissimmee.

FDOH-Osceola encourages residents to come to the event and receive valuable health information and enjoy fun family time.
