State Road 408 reopen after crews replace sign

ORLANDO, Fla. — Lanes on State Road 408 are back open Friday.

Construction crews were working overnight to lift a huge sign into place. Crews were fixing the sign that was torn down by a dump truck in May.

Contractors had to meet a 5 a.m. deadline to get the work completed. Otherwise, they would have faced a $1,000 fine for every minute past 5 a.m.

Officials with the Central Florida Expressway Authority said they had no doubt crews would meet the deadline.
