Pedestrian killed crossing road in Edgewater

EDGEWATER. Fla. — A pedestrian was killed while crossing a road in Edgewater Tuesday night, according to police.

Edgewater police said the woman, who was in her mid-50s, died after being hit while crossing the road at U.S. Route 1 and Pelican Drive.

The woman was struck by a vehicle driven by Douglas C. Bradley, 56, of Edgewater, police said.

According to police, Bradley was traveling in the outside, northbound lane of U.S. 1 when he hit the woman.

Police have not released the name of the victim. The accident is being investigated by Edgewater police.
