Pedestrian struck, killed by van in DeLand, police say

DELAND, Fla. — A pedestrian was struck and killed in DeLand Saturday night, police said.

A silver Honda was traveling near the intersection of North Woodland Boulevard and Woodmont Road around 7 p.m. when it hit the pedestrian.

Investigators said the van, which was northbound, struck the pedestrian just south of the intersection, police said.

Police have not identified the pedestrian pending notification of next of kin.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
