Photos: Plane crashes onto Kissimmee road

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Kissimmee police are investigating what caused a plane to go down onto a road Tuesday afternoon.

Police tweeted that Martin Luther King Road is closed between Thacker Avenue and John Young Parkway.

Two men who were on the plane were treated and released.

An eyewitness told Channel 9's Field Sutton that she overheard the plane flying overheard and almost immediately heard a loud boom.

"Me and my aunt, we ran down and we ran across, like, you know, it's a plane down in the road. And that's when we came and we came over here to make sure that nobody was hurt and see if it was more than one person," said witness Tacariah Monroe.

The men were in Central Florida on business from New Mexico and had flown in and out of Kissimmee Getaway Airport, Sutton said.

"Thank goodness it wasn't (sic) any cars or anything because it could have been really ugly then," Monroe said.

Police told Eyewitness News that MLK Boulevard will probably be closed until sometime Wednesday when the NTSB arrives to investigate the wreckage.
