Passenger in Palatka plane crash dies from injuries

PALATKA, Fla. — WFTV learned the passenger in a small plane crash has died.

The CESSNA 400 aircraft crashed into an embankment behind a Lowe's store just before 11 a.m. Friday while trying to land at Kay Larkin airstrip.

The Florida Highway Patrol said no one on the ground was injured.

They said the pilot and 73-year-old Malcolm Clevenstine were taken to a Gainesville hospital.

Clevenstine died Saturday and the pilot is recovering from minor injuries.
