Car of missing Orlando man found; Police investigate case as possible kidnapping

ORLANDO, Fla. — Detectives recovered a key piece of evidence in the disappearance of an Orlando man who may have been kidnapped last week.

Jim Johnson Jr., 39, was last seen about 9:45 a.m. Friday at Goolies Barber Shop on South Orange Blossom Trail.

Investigators found Johnson's vehicle, a 2012 white Cadillac CTS, on Monday at an apartment complex near Hiawasee Road and Colonial Drive.

Skywitness 9 HD was over the scene as investigators loaded the car onto a flatbed truck and tagged it with evidence stickers.

Police will not say how they located the car.

In the meantime, Johnson's mother, Ruby Vaughn, is asking for anyone who knows where her son is to come forward.

Vaughn said her son is a diabetic and she believes someone may know where he is.

"So if someone could please, if they have my son, let him go so he can go to the hospital and get some medical help," Vaughn said.

No further details surrounding Johnson's disappearance have been released. Police said anyone with information should call Crimeline at 407-423-TIPS.
