Police: Boyfriend stabbed woman's ex 8 times outside Orlando apt.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police arrested a man who they said stabbed a man eight times in front of an apartment on South Semoran Boulevard.

Police said a woman was picking up her son from her boyfriend's apartment at the Canopy Villas apartments when the child's father showed up.

Police said the men got into a fight, and her boyfriend, Eric Maldonado, stabbed the child's father in the abdomen.

The victim then ran to the street for help and witnesses tried to stop the bleeding.

"Blood on shirt, helped him breathe, hopefully he lives," said a witness who did not want to be identified.

Orlando police said the victim, whose name was not released, is in stable condition and is expected to survive.
