Police: Carjacking suspects lead Orlando police on chase that ends with crash

ORLANDO, Fla. — Two carjacking suspects are in the hospital after police said they led them on a chase through part of Orlando.

Officers said they initially responded to a report of a carjacking that started in the jurisdiction of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, just off River Tree Circle.

Around 11 p.m. Friday, officers said two suspects. Jahva McClinton and James Randall,  forced the driver out of his van at gunpoint and then drove off.

Officers later spotted the van on Orange Blossom Trail and tried to pull it over.

They said a chase ensued and the suspects crashed the van into a fence near Westmoreland Drive and Conley Street, where the suspects then attempted to run away.

“They fled from us. We had to do several pursuits. We wound up catching them very close to the proximity to the vehicle,” said Lt. Douglas Goerke with the Orlando Police Department. “We have evidence that tied them to the car and we have officers that saw them bail out of the vehicle.”

Both of the suspects were transported to the hospital for minor injuries after they were located by K-9 units and arrested.
