Police: Child reunited with mom after noncustodial father took him

ORLANDO, Fla. — A 16-month-old child has been reunited with his mother after his noncustodial father took him by force on Monday, Orlando police said.

Police said several attempts had been made to meet with the father, Timothy Strawter, in order to take custody of Adonis Strawter, but the father had refused to cooperate.

About 1 p.m., police arrested Strawter, and the child was evaluated and returned to his mother, police said.

Strawter has been charged with battery by strangulation, kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, among other charges.
