Police: Couple assaulted Dunkin' Donuts employee over wrong order

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — A man and his wife are accused of assaulting a Dunkin' Donuts employee for getting their coffee order wrong.

The incident happened on Tuesday in Lauderhill.

Authorities said Jeffrey Wright, 27, and Alexis Longo, 22, placed an order at the drive-thru, and when their order was delivered, Longo realized she got caramel in her coffee instead of vanilla.

Police said the couple went inside and asked to speak to a manager. Before he arrived, an argument broke out with the person who took their order. Longo tried to hit the employee and her husband jumped in. Other customers tried to help.

According to reports, Wright pulled a 9 mm handgun and pistol-whipped the employee.

Longo and Wright remain in the Broward County Jail.
