Police dispatcher accused of inappropriate relationship with young girl

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A dispatcher for the Kissimmee Police Department was arrested, accused of lewd acts against a child.

Travis B. Crews, 23, was arrested in Lake County Friday night.

Lake County sheriff's officials said Crews was arrested after a girl and her parents met with detectives and described an inappropriate relationship between the girl and Crews.

According to investigators, the girl, who is under the age of 15, said she and Crews had carried on a relationship for several months.

The girl told police that Crews texted her pictures of his genitals and that he touched her in an inappropriate manner, investigators said.

According to investigators, when confronted by detectives Crews admitted to knowing the age of the girl and to texting the pictures she had described.

Crews  was booked into the Lake County Jail on a $15,000 bond. He is charged with lewd or lascivious battery on a child between the ages of 12 and 15.

Detectives believe there are more victims and are continuing the investigation.
